How long does sanding and refinishing take?
It depends on the size of the area, the stain and the finish you choose, plus drying time between coats. We'll give you a timeline for your floor with your free estimate.
Do I need to leave my home during the work?
Not always. The rooms we're working in are off-limits while we sand and while the finish dries. Many families stay in other parts of the house. We'll help you plan around it.
Is sanding dusty?
Sanding wood creates dust. We work to keep it contained and clean up when we're done. Ask us about dust control during your estimate.
What's the difference between a water-based and an oil-based finish?
Water-based finishes dry faster, have less odor and keep the wood's natural color. Oil-based finishes give a warmer, amber tone that deepens over time and take longer to dry. We use professional products from brands like Bona, Loba and Duraseal and will help you choose.
Should I refinish or replace my floor?
If your hardwood is solid and just worn or scratched, refinishing is often enough. Deep damage, water damage or a floor that has been sanded many times may need repairs or new boards. We'll look at your floor and give you an honest answer.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on square footage, the condition of the floor, the wood, the stain and the finish. That's why we give free on-site estimates with a clear price for your project.
Do you install engineered and prefinished hardwood?
Yes. We install solid, engineered and prefinished hardwood, including subfloor preparation, trim and transitions.
Can you refinish stairs or repair damaged boards?
Yes. We install and refinish stair treads and risers, replace damaged boards and repair water damage and gaps.
When can I walk on my floors again?
It depends on the finish. You'll usually wait before walking on the floor in socks, and longer before putting furniture and rugs back. We'll give you exact times for the finish we use on your floor.

Is sanding messy? Will there be dust everywhere?
Our sanding is dustless: the sanders connect to professional vacuum systems that capture the dust right as we sand, and we bring all our own professional equipment. It keeps your home much cleaner than traditional sanding.
Do you install vinyl plank (LVP) or laminate?
Yes. Along with hardwood, we install vinyl plank (LVP) and laminate flooring. We'll help you compare them with hardwood during your free estimate.
